While many of the core business functions are the same as in private industry, in many situations Public Sector entities have their own special needs and require solutions which are unique to them. For example, revenue and property management, tax administration, licenses/ permits, public safety, court systems are some of the application areas which are very important in the government. Similarly, universities and school boards have their own needs with respect to information systems for students, teachers and academic curriculum.
